Al-Mahsul fi Ilm Usul il-Fiqh

Al-Mahsul by Imam Fakhr Al-Din Al-Razi. This text is considered to be either one of the Ummahat of Usul ul Fiqh or a summary of the other four Ummahat (mother-texts) of Usul on the way of the Mutakallimun as Ibn Khaldun mentions in his Muqaddima. Imam Al-Razi in his characteristic analytical style summarizes the opinions of the previous scholars of Usul and provides his own arguments for his preponderances and preferred opinions. It is one of the most important texts in Usul ul-Fiqh, spawning an entire sub-genre of texts in Usul of commentaries, summaries, and marginal glosses.
